Education can play a very effective role in rasing production from its low level. General and technical education develops the efficiency among the labourers to use highly advanced techniques of production for the optimum use of the existing resources education modernizes the attitudes and behavior of the people which is of utmost importance for rapid growth of economy.
Importance of a rational education system is summarized herewith:

Pre-School education:- The concept was non existing during pre -independence period. Now a small beginning in this direction has been made. Pre School education requires crèches for children upto the age of3 years and nurseries for children in the age group of 3-6 years.
Elementary education:-It concerns the age group of 6-14 years and I to VIII standard. Though our mission constitution maintained that free and compulsory education will be provided to all children upto 14 years age but this decision has not carried on as yet.
Adult Education:-A literate is a person, who can read and write with understanding In order to achieve universalisation of education. national Adult education Programme was taken up in 1978.
Secondary education;-Though most of the states have accepted 10+2 pattern of education but the change has not been uniform and complete as yet.
In India not only the basic education but higher education like Graduation , Engineering, Medical, Agricultural development, Research & development, further studies in advance technology are also excel know .From the Ancient to today the various students of various countries come to India & study. the system & the expenditure on study in India is very cheap.
